In this section, you will find reversals of songs by diverse bands, may they be well-known or little-known. The purpose of these reversals is to learn how the songs work, why they are good or not so good, how they build tension and things like that.
The reversals in this section do not take a neutral standpoint. I pick the songs that i reverse because i like them or dislike them or because i see some special, interesting thing in them. So if your taste in music is different from mine (surprise: it is), we will probably disagree on aspects of these analyses.
The result of these reversals is a list of rules and theories about song writing. I try to formulate them as broudly and conservatively as possible. This way – even if you disagree with my taste in music – some rules and theories will also apply to the music you like. Hopefully, writing good music will become at least a little easier with that small toolset of theories.
I am currently not really interested in lyrics and music theory, so there will not be much to read about these topics here. But this might change in the future.
